Beckhoff Automation UpDate India: Launch of Automation UpDate 2011 in India generates significant interest
In July 2011 Beckhoff held an Automation UpDate for the first time in India under the title “Open automation solutions”. The compact lecture and discussion series, with which Beckhoff provides information about current developments and trends in automation technology, was held in the cities of Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune and was very well attended, with approximately 200 participants. Highlights of the lectures were the topics “TwinCAT 3”, “Industrial Ethernet”, “EtherCAT”, “PC-based Safety” and “25 years of PC Control by Beckhoff”.

Michael Jost, Beckhoff Product Manager for fieldbus systems and EtherCAT, justifies the decision to hold the Automation UpDate as follows: “Continuously rising turnover figures show that India has become a very important market for us, to which we are devoting more attention. With our seminar series we not only inform our customers about existing possibilities and our latest technical developments, but – in dialogue with the customers – we ourselves also learn a great deal about country-specific market requirements: for example, what the Indian market needs or expects from us and what approach we should take. That is to say, this information helps us with the development of our market strategy.” Roland van Mark, Product and Marketing Management, Industrial PC, adds: “Beckhoff offers a very versatile control package. In our lecture series the customers learn how they can use our technology to make their machines faster, more efficient, more reliable and more competitive. We believe in innovation and that innovation will set the pace in automation technology.”
